LiteGait Training Report
Training Date: 8/19/19
Facility: The ARC of Wayne County
Adult DayHab

Presentation: They said they did it prior but it had been a while.

How many attended? 3, was supposed to be 4 but one got sick, they videoed it for her.

Did you mention: LiteGait social media- FaceBook, Twitter;USER Forum, Presenter Series webinars - especially TIPS & TRICKS every quarter Yes though they asked if MR was on the list to get NYS CEUs and you are not so they can not get CEU hours for anything.

Harness/LiteGait Equipment Training: Went over in standing and discussed in supine. None of the patients were appropriate due to cognition and ability level.

Patient Training:
We had 3 patients. Worked on improving gait and endurance. Decreased speed of walking for one person and brought heel down to improve endurance. Handling at ankles or thighs depending on what we were doing. Showed them how to get the patient on and off the treadmill. We also worked a lot on standing balance and sitting balance off the treadmill and discussed how to adjust treatment ideas to bring in weight shift and rotation. We worked on part and whole practice with gait and then after the treadmill walk over ground. Their floor is a laminate that does not allow the LiteGait to roll easily and the doorway for the clinic is not wide enough to get it out of the room.

Problems or Concerns Encountered with patients:
The patient did not come but they were wondering what to do about a patient that picks up their feet when walking in the LiteGait. Discussed that they need to work on behavioral management. Work on walking and then earning a toy or a privilege. Discuss singing when walking. Discuss to watch something and stop when the patient lifts feet. Discuss putting silicon shapes or spots on the treadmill for the patient to step on.

What was the BEST question/remark/feedback you got during this training?
They loved how to get it off the treadmill and what the steering and break wheels were for. They have been using it since they got it and that was their biggest issue.

Champions: All 3, Andrea, Mary, and Morgan.

Who is the best person to f/u regarding clinical support? I think Andrea is the one who wrote the request.

Who is the best person to f/u regarding sales needs? I think Andrea.

We discussed that the S shaped handle bars may help to simulate the walker what most of the patients use.
We discussed the gaitkeeper treadmills which would go slower than theirs and the controls come back to the therapist to use when facilitating. Andrea said they may look into a grant for one of those as they would really help in their situation.
